Hi! I’m Kelli! I’m here to bring you honest recipes. Isn’t it overwhelming how all the recipes you find on pinterest always seem to come out perfect? I want to share my recipes that turn out beautiful as well as those that taste amazing, but aren’t all that visually appealing. I will share fun short cut recipes as well as recipes from scratch. My goal is to cut out the bullsh*t and bring you pure honest baking.
My love of baking stems back to when my mom and I spent a whole day baking and experimenting with what the different ingredients do to the recipe. She did this to show me that science and math is involved in baking and that I can be good at science and math, despite a kindergarten art teacher telling me girls could not be good at math and science. This teacher also said you couldn’t be good at those AND art at the same time. On the contrary of her beliefs, I have a BS in chemistry and am working toward a MS in chemical engineering.
Over the years, baking has become a creative outlet for me when the world feels like it’s crashing down. I always referred to it as stress baking. It was always convenient that winter holiday baking fell in line with finals.
There have been many fails along the way. I will never forget when candy corn cookies ruined an entire baking sheet, but there have also been many baking adventures that shocked me with how well they turned out. I want to combine the tips and tricks I’ve gathered through my many trials and bring you delicious recipes backed by honesty.
